Place an item on Hold

If an item is popular or new, it may be checked out when you wish to borrow it. You can place an item on "HOLD" and receive a telephone call from the library when the item becomes available. This can be done directly from your computer or by calling the library.

  • To place a book on HOLD, go to the Library Catalog page
  • Enter a book title in the title field
  • Bring up the catalog page of that book. If it is checked-out, place a check mark in the circle beside the item(s) that you wish to place on HOLD
  • Then, click the PLACE HOLD REQUEST button
  • A template will appear that asks you to enter your patron ID (14-digit library card number), your PIN and the library branch where you want to pick-up item
  • After entering the required information, click SUBMIT REQUEST. The HOLD will register on your Patron Information page.
Books included in school reading lists and media, such as DVD's, BluRay discs  and video recordings, may not be placed on hold.
