Duties of the Traffic Bureau
• Investigation and supervision of most life threatening and fatal motor vehicle
accidents within the township
• Follow-up investigations of leaving the scene accidents
• Traffic and parking investigations
• Traffic and parking surveys
• Police Safety Liaison for roadway construction and maintenance projects that impact
vehicular and pedestrian traffic
• School post coverage, assignment, interviews and payroll
• Supervision of school Crossing Guards and Parking Enforcement Officers
• Management of the state funded Drunk Drivers' Enforcement Fund Grant
• Investigation of Handicapped Parking requests for on street ordinance coverage with
signage

Review of Planning Board and Board of Adjustment site plans
with comment
preparations. Filing of plans for five years within traffic
• Attend pre-construction meetings for roadway, bridge and large complex construction
projects within the Township
• Attend State and County Traffic Association Meetings
• Monitor Radar Unit calibrations, tuning fork certifications and equipment repairs
• Preparations of Township Special Events such as parades, ceremonies for traffic
control and detour routes
