SCAM WARNING
Citizens should be particularly aware if they receive a
letter, usually with a foreign post mark, informing the
addressee that he/or she has won a lottery prize for a large
sum of money. The letter further requests the recipient
fill out a form which includes a request for bank name,
address, routing number, and account number.
Citizens are advised to inform the police department of any
similar mail they may receive and are cautioned NOT to
provide any information requested in the letter. Providing
such information could lead to loss of any money contained
in the recipient’s account.
