Union
residents are advised to be cautious of unsolicited offers
for tree trimming or repairs to roofs, driveways, furnaces,
decks, etc. Many of these offers are scams or flim flams,
designed to part residents from their money.
·
Never
allow anyone you do not know to enter your home to use the
phone, get a drink of water or other assistance. If you
feel there may be a real emergency, call the police.
·
Request
identification from any meter readers or persons claiming to
be authorized to do repairs for a utility company, or call
the company to verify that the employee is an authorized
employee.
·
Every
year, numbers of individuals fall victim to scams. Protect
yourself and your neighborhood from falling victim to these
criminals. Report any activity you feel is suspicious to the
