About Manuel Figueiredo

Manuel Figueiredo is entering his first three-year term on the Township Committee.
Committeeman Figueiredo is employed by the Newark Public Schools, where he is in his 22nd year as a middle school Math Teacher. He holds a B.A. and M.A. in Education from Kean University. He has further pursued non-degree graduate studies at Montclair University and NJIT in Education and Computer Information Systems.
Manuel married Rosa Delgadillo in 1988 and later moved to Union. They have four children: Jonathan, Michael, Amanda, and Ashley.
Committeeman Figueiredo has been involved in our community for many years. He has been a member of the Connecticut Farms Civic Association and various PTA’s at schools where his children attend. He has coached in the Union Little League, the Recreation Basketball Clinics, the Boys and Girls Club, and currently coaches in the Union Soccer League. He also volunteers his time as musical director for the Burnet Middle School musical productions and coordinates ticket sales at the UHS theater productions. He served on the Union Board of Education and recently ended his tenure there so that he could pursue a seat on the Township Committee.
Committeeman Figueiredo looks forward to working on behalf of the residents of Union Township and offering a fresh perspective to our governing body. His love of family and community, along with sincerity and integrity, are the character traits that he will bring to this governing body and the residents of Union.
