About Union Township: The Township of Union is located in north-central Union County. It is traversed by a network of local and regional roadways including the Garden State Parkway, Interstate 78, US Route 22, and State Route 82 (Morris Avenue). The Union County municipalities of Elizabeth, Hillside, Springfield, Kenilworth, and Roselle Park, and the Essex County communities of Irvington, Maplewood, and Millburn border the Township.

Change in location of the Elizabeth Social Security Office**
Beginning Monday, August 23, 2010 at 9:00 a.m., the Elizabeth Social Security office will open their newest, state-of-the-art Social Security office at 855 Lehigh Ave, Union NJ 07083. The previous office at 547 Morris Ave, Elizabeth NJ will close permanently on Friday, August 20, 2010 at noon. The phone number for the new office remains (877) 803-6306.

Many services are also available by using Social Security’s national, toll-free number, 1-800-772-1213 or (1-800-325-0778 TTY). Automated attendant services are available from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Information and services also are available online at www.socialsecurity.gov. Visitors can find up-to-date information, download publications, file an application or arrange for other services in our easy-to-use, secure and convenient website.
