Human Resources

The Township of Union's Human Resources Office is responsible for administering the township's human resources policies and practices - including recruiting, training, benefits and labor relations, in accordance with a culture that values diversity, encourages customer satisfaction and strives to provide a stimulating, competitive and encouraging work environment.

Responsibilities

Working in conjunction with the New Jersey Department of Personnel, the township Human Resources Office attends to the processes of employee hiring, promotion and discipline, as well as labor contract negotiations and is responsible for administration of insurance and benefit plans. Township of Union residents receive preference in hiring for township positions which are subject to Civil Service Rules and Regulations.

Goal

The township's goal is to provide its residents with a high quality of services.
