Free English Classes

Free English Classes for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)

Thanks to a special grant, Union Public Library (UPL) will offer free ESOL classes to all interested adult New Jersey residents beginning September 14, 2020. Course books will be provided.

Please note that all classes will be held virtually via Zoom. Students must have a computer and internet access to participate. 

A virtual Open House will be held via Zoom on Tuesday, September 1 at 7pm

1. Who can take the free ESOL classes at the library? 

Classes are open to all interested New Jersey residents 18 and older

2. How often will the virtual classes meet?

Virtual classes will meet 2-days per week for 12-weeks. In addition to attending classes, online lab assignments and conversation classes are required. 

3. When will classes be offered? 

Classes are scheduled in the morning and evening. 

4. What levels are available? 

Levels include Beginner, High Beginner, and Intermediate. 

5. How do I sign up?

• Take a pre-test to determine the class level and fill out a registration form.

• Commit to attending the program for the entire 12-weeks.

NOTE: ONLY PARTICIPANTS WHO COMPLETE THE ENTIRE 12-WEEKS WILL RECEIVE A CERTIFICATE.
