Free English Classes for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)

Thanks to a special grant, Union Public Library (UPL) offers free ESOL classes to all interested New Jersey residents. Course books will be provided.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs):

1. Who can take the free ESOL classes at the library? 

Classes are open to all interested New Jersey residents.

2. How often will the classes meet?

Classes will meet 2-days per week for 8-weeks. In addition to attending classes, online lab assignments are required. 

3. When will classes be offered? 

Classes are scheduled in the morning and evening. 

4. What levels are available? 

Levels include Beginner, High Beginner, and Intermediate. More advanced levels may be added later.   

5. How do I sign up? 

All interested New Jersey residents can: 

• Call the library and leave your name & contact information.

• Take a pre-test to determine the class level and fill out a registration form.

• Commit to attending the program for the entire 8-weeks.

NOTE: ONLY PARTICIPANTS WHO COMPLETE THE ENTIRE 8-WEEKS WILL RECEIVE A CERTIFICATE.
